Ethan Miller

I’ve always thought that rock musicians are quite lazy. Is it really that difficult to compose if that’s the only thing you do? Twelve songs each two years looks like a very poor balance to me.
I know composing is not a job but… (Now comes a grumpy speech about how good the Velvet underground and the Pixies were and blah blah blah).
I guess that’s why I especially appreciate musicians like Ethan Miller, who has released two pretty good albums in one year: one as Comets on Fire and the other as Howlin Rain.
According to AMG Howlin Rain has a druggy and spacey mood, whereas Comets on Fire is druggy too, and aggressive.

Y además me recuerda a mi padre cuando era joven.
Have you ever tried being an artist trying to cope with your art? It's not just about composing, really. Most of the artists - at least here in Finland - get the majority of their income from performances. It's a tough job here up north to tour all the little villages. Cold for six months and really fucking cold for the rest of the year.
