The Devil and... (I)

Ya he probado alabar a un grupo o cantante para que la gente se interese por él, pero funciona en raras ocasiones, así que lo único que diré sobre el documental "The devil and Daniel Johnston" es lo siguiente:
- Después de deambular por un pueblacho de West Virginia, delirante y sin su medicación, una vieja le increpó desde el primer piso de un edificio cercano por hacer ruido. Él, pensando que la anciana estaba poseída por el demonio, subió hasta donde se encontraba la vieja como un loco. Ella, aterrorizada, no le quedó más salida que tirarse por la ventana, rompiéndose las dos piernas.
- Un día en el que estaba realizando un viaje en avioneta con su padre, y creyendo que era Casper el fantasma y que por tanto podía volar, le quitó a su padre, en pleno vuelo, las llaves de encendido a la fuerza y las tiró por la ventana. Su padre pudo realizar un aterrizaje forzoso, pero después de este episodio fue encerrado en una institución mental.
- A principios de los 90, y sobre todo gracias a que Kurt Cobain era un gran fan* suyo, la multinacional Elektra Records intentó ficharle (por unos 45.000$ por disco), pero Metallica, a los que él consideraba mensajeros del demonio, estaban en esa compañía así que rechazó la oferta.
- En la actualidad su arte gráfico se vende a más que buen precio.

- One morning, out of medication, he attacked and old woman with the intention to cast out the devils within her. The old woman, scared to death, jumped from the first floor of a building in order to escape. She broke both her legs.
- Once, coming back to West Virginia on a private plane piloted by his father, Johnston experienced a psychotic episode and took control of the plane away from his father. Johnston removed the key from the ignition and threw it out of the plane. His father managed to successfully crash-land the plane in a wooded area.
